cecily is official is a big girl. no more diapers and no more binky...poor girl. she has been ready for a while but i was not...she just turned 2! after a couple of times of her taking of her poopy diaper, i finally decided to not buy that $40 box of diapers at costco and bit the bullet. we went to target on the way home to get some princess panties and some tinker fairy toys and seriously that was it. she came right home took off her diaper, stepped into those snow white panties and jumped on the dora potty and sure enough went "pee pee" on the potty. weston and i did the "pee pee" dance and a few hours later she was asking to go poopsie!!! i couldn't believe it! my boys took weeks to potty train at 3 years old and still one of them {which shall remain nameless} still struggles at night!!!! people have always told me that girls are just way easier, i never believed it, but now i do.
the next day, i went to put cecily in bed and we couldn't find her binks. she was calling it saying "binky r you?" after a while, she whispered to me "swiper took it" and i looked at her and saw this opportunity and decided to go with it. i quickly kicked the binky, that was on the floor, under her crib and rocked my sad sad little big girl to sleep. she struggled for a the next couple nights and one night i overheard corbin putting her to sleep...
cecily "pease dad, get my binky swiper took it" corbin "oh naughty swiper...but ceci, you are daddy's big girl now remember? you have big girl panties and you pee pee on the potty. big girls don't have binkys, honey."
cecily {in the saddest little cry} "i don't want to be a daddy girl anymore"
so so sad. you should have seen my sweet husbands face after. i thought corb was going to run to the store and get her a new binks. it made his and my heart melt.

Wow. I can't believe it. She is getting so big and she did it all so fast. I can imagine Corb was dying! How was Utah? Was it nice to get out of the heat??

i am sorry we missed you guys but the twins were sick and figured that was a souvenier you didn't want to take home. i would love to come visit i am so in on a girls trip.
So happy for her, so happy for YOU!! It was such a joy seeing her ( you too). :) She is such a babe and I hope she and Taedon will work on their sharing/communication skills before they become Mr. & Mrs.!

Melissa, I just found your blog through Becky, and well, I've been staring at the faces of your beautiful children for quite some time! I had tears in my eyes after reading about Cecily's transition into becoming a big girl. So sad and touching. Although this post was written some time ago, I really enjoyed it. Man, your kids are cute. And that husband? What a good man.
